Our mission
I created the Analysis Suite around a simple conviction: designing ground-source heat pump (GSHP) systems shouldn't require wrestling with intimidating software or codes. My goal is to put advanced, research-grade geothermal design within reach of every engineer, consultant, and student — so that more projects choose geothermal, and design it well.
A technology that deserves better tools
Geothermal systems are among the most effective ways to cut energy use, peak electrical demand, and greenhouse-gas emissions — yet they remain a niche in HVAC engineering. Too often, GSHP options are set aside early in a project because they seem complex, or they're sized too conservatively for lack of experience, inflating capital costs and undermining their competitiveness. I built the Analysis Suite to remove those barriers.
From the field to the classroom — and back
Development began in 2021, shaped by my dual experience as a geothermal industry consultant and as a professor at Polytechnique Montréal. That perspective informs everything from the interface to the underlying methods: tools that respect academic rigour while staying genuinely usable on real projects. Since then, the Analysis Suite has been adopted by students, engineers, and consultants worldwide.
Accessible, yet powered by serious science
The software of the Analysis Suite pairs an intuitive, fast-to-learn design environment with a high-performance simulation engine built on decades of peer-reviewed research. The idea is to let designers focus on the physics that actually govern GSHP performance — borehole sizing, fluid temperatures, seasonal efficiency — rather than on software mechanics. By making rigorous design methods approachable, it promotes accurate, cost-effective systems and prevents the systematic oversizing that has long held the industry back.
Rooted in research, shared with our community
The Analysis Suite is developed and distributed by P³ Geothermal, a spin-off of Polytechnique Montréal. Many of its core models come from the work of my graduate students, and whenever possible a share of the software's revenue goes back to the students whose research made it possible — because academic contributions deserve recognition beyond a publication.
